I am a homegrown, 28 year old, Central Florida resident. I have been messing with web technologies for the last 14 years and I have been working professionally for 9. Before entering the work force I was a proud Golden Knight, Go UCF!. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.

The stuff you probably care about is that I have made a career as a Java/ColdFusion developer and currently I am working for a world renown vacation destination in Orlando, FL.

I am also in the process of starting my own web development shop with a long time friend Tyler Hunt. Tyler and I have chosen RoR to develop all of our applications with and so far we are happy with that decision. We both really enjoy the Ruby language and the performance gains you get from using an opinionated framework like Rails.

In my spare time I work on TallyHoh one of two applications Protoh, Inc. is currently working on. Every once in awhile I will pickup another language like Python to keep up to date with current trends and different practices. And if I get bored with any of the above things I will find something new, for instance I am currently following a lot of stuff in the JRuby world.

Why should you be here?

That is a good question. This site has gone through numerous mutations, and the last mutation I attempted to stick strictly to programming advice. After a few months I realized that I have too much to say about other topics so I need to stop limiting myself. This is probably not a good thing, but it is my blog so I don’t care.

To answer the question you should be here if you want to read opinions on numerous topics usually around programming, gaming or politics from the prospective of someone described in the Who am I section of this page.

Did you really create gravity?

Contrary to popular belief I did not create gravity.

Do you have an Arch-nemesis?

Maybe...

Do you know what you are talking about?

Probably not, but hopefully my experiences will be able to help you become a better developer/professional.

You are not a very good writer!

First, that is not a question, and second that is probably correct. My better posts are usually updated after a good friend of mine edits them and sends me an updated post ;-).

Who am I?
